Just got back from an awesome weekend in Chicago! Tapas, art at MCA, discussing mythology with random strangers, and my very first trip to IKEA (meshing my home decor aesthetic with my wife’s proved a lot harder than I thought.) Along with that, been making/taking calls and emailing preparing for my first Blind Date event. Not to mention out there interviewing, day jobbing, and other general life rituals…chore, hygiene, living.
Coming up this Wednesday is a Skype interview I had with Alexia Serpentini. Alexia and I chatted for over an hour, but worry not, I cut it down a little. We kind of torn down the ‘fourth wall’ so to speak, and at one point, it almost seems like I’m the one getting interview. Blind Date seems to get more open and honest each week I do it. It’s interesting how different podcast can be from what I did with radio…in positive ways. Sometimes it’s nice to just be yourself, having a real conversation. Anyway, I feel like you’ll gain much insight into Alexia’s character after this interview. Her strength as an artist. Her strength as a person. She’s an incredibly thoughtful individual who strives to connect with, and help, others.
Today’s episode consists of a Skype interview I had with Christina Smith. Under the moniker Christina Rae, she has performed at various locations (at home & abroad) and released her first collection of songs (the EP, Grey Sea, which is available now on Bandcamp!)
Christina Smith is a young folksy singer-songwriter from Louisville, living in Chicago. She writes about love, loss, and life experiences the majority of us are all too familiar with.
