Summer of….

Hey readers.

June is looking to be a pretty great month for Blind Date, and things all related. It’s kind of like the ‘Summer of George’, but for me…

So question, do you by chance know what ASMR means? The video above may help provide a little insight. Art in all its form is context sensitive, so I understand if it will seem odd without the details. Worry not, by this time next week, it will make much more sense. I am super excited about next week’s episode; it will be one of my most unique guests yet. I leave you with a mystery till then….

June 12th, Cutter Williams will be having a release party for the long awaited Issue 4 of Cavalcade Magazine and the new Jonathan Glen Wood’s album, ‘Ballad of Jon’. It will be hosted at Decca (812 E Market St), at 8PM. Free to the public. Readings will begin at 8pm featuring words by Jonathan Wood, Brian Manley, and Joey Keegin. At 9pm, Grayson Hall will graciously play a set followed by what will certainly prove to be a moving performance by Jonathan Wood.

Pick up a copy, and if you look hard enough, you’ll see some familiar names.

Of course, June 20th is the Blind Anniversary party…birthday party…celebration, what have you. Ben, with maybe a little help, is cooking up something interesting. Chervon says she’s pumped! Max Moore will be on LVAA’s ArtxFM radio show PUBLIC, to help promote. Erin will be reading poems, some of which from her newest Bruce Springsteen-centric book of poetry. And Tristan Palmer of Weirdo Beardos fame, will be contributing words from his body of work.

Closing out the month on June 25th will be my discussion with Alexander W.G. Rickel. Besides being one of the members of the Dream Eye Color Wheel live band, he sculpts, illustrates, and generally creates how & when he can. This is definitely one you don’t want to miss out on.

Happy Odin’s day, listeners!

Let me start off the post with a quick apology to you the audience, and Mrs. Keane. You may notice an annoying sound now and again throughout the interview. For those of you who use recording equipment often, you’ll recognize this sound…the sound of a cell phone trying to get signal. Sadly it wasn’t possible to totally remove it. Lesson learned, I guess. Always wear your headphones…

Anyhow, let me introduce today’s interviewee. Erin Keane is an author working on her third collection of poetry, host of the WFPL program Unbound, Co-founder of the InKY Reading Series, instructor for creative writing courses for the National University, and so much more. To learn more about Erin, I’ve provided various links for your convenience.

Thank you for the support. And, as always, thanks for listening!!
